kathyrn:
The Kara tribe in Ethiopia has an awful tradition of killing children. If a child is born out of wedlock, is unannounced to the tribal leaders, or has teeth that come in from the top of the mouth instead of the bottom, they consider the child cursed or mingi and they kill him. The child will…

Do you ever...
have those moments when you think about what you could have had vs. what you do? Today, as I was filling out a job application, I had to write down how much I used to make as a teacher and I was sad for a moment. I thought about how I could be living in a little house down the road from work, and have my dogs and my own space and security. But that would be it.
And I realized that despite the...

When I got to work, my boss had a black eye. I said, “What happened to your eye, Ethan?” He said, “What do you mean?” I said, “You have black eye, like someone punched you in the head.”
“Yeah,” he said. “that’s exactly what happened.”

Abut six months ago, I prayed for an open door. About four months ago, I got one, and I walked through it. Does that mean it’s perfect? no. Do I always love my decision? no.
But was it what God provided?
yes.
Will He work all things out for good?
yes.
Do I trust Him in that?
Well, I’m working on it.
He’s working on me.
and for that I’m thankful.

Things I realized today...
I have something more and better to offer than my face and my body.
(and so do others.)
He said He would heal my waywardness and love me freely.
(And I’m finally starting to believe Him.)
God has a pretty good plan for me, and a bigger picture I’m not allowed to see yet.
(but it’s beautiful.)
I’ve been living like everything is over, but it’s really just...
